Late breaking news...

The Woodland Trust was on Radio 4 this morning with confirmation that spring this year is as much as four weeks behind recent years - though still earlier, on average, than 30 years ago. They get their data from spotters all over the country who send in their first sightings of birds nesting, frogspawn and key indicator species coming into bud, as well as other seasonal occurrences in autumn. Want to get involved? Visit www.naturescalendar.org.uk/register - it's a great way of 'plugging in' to the seasons, no matter where you live.
