More rain overnight, more high winds today. It was the stormiest December in 44 years, according to the Met Office, and I can well believe it. January is set to continue much the same. Sections of Tooting Common are underwater and have been for days; it's nothing, though, to what other parts of the country are suffering.
I'll soon be starting work on a book about rain, which feels appropriate. In a couple of weeks we'll be going to Cambridgeshire, to the fen country, to see what wet weather feels like there. Meanwhile, Scout brings much of the common in on her paws and undercarriage every day. Pity the owners of a white dog in wet weather.
